Immediate Steps for Handling Suspicious Messages

If an employee receives an email that seems unusual, they must follow a strict safety protocol. First, they should never click any links, open attachments, or reply to the message. Instead, they should contact the sender through a separate, known communication channel, such as a phone call, to confirm the request. 

Finally, the employee must report the incident to your IT department—whether in-house or outsourced—immediately, so the threat can be blocked across the entire network.
